FAQs

  • Waxing results typically last 3-4 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. I recommend booking every 4 weeks to stay smooth and avoid disrupting the growth pattern. Over time, you’ll notice slower regrowth and finer hair!

  • For the best results, exfoliate your skin 1-2 days before your appointment to remove dead skin cells. Avoid applying lotions, oils, or deodorant on the day of your session. And make sure your hair is about a quarter of an inch long—like the length of a grain of rice—for the wax to grip properly!

  • Waxing removes hair from the root, which means smoother skin for longer—usually 3-4 weeks—while shaving only cuts hair at the surface, and stubble can return within a day or two. Plus, with regular waxing, hair grows back finer and thinner over time, while shaving can make it feel coarse.

  • Don’t worry! I use high-quality, gentle waxes designed for sensitive skin. I also customize the experience with pre- and post-wax care to reduce redness and irritation. If you have specific concerns, let me know, and we can work together to ensure your skin feels its best!

  • Yes, you can get waxed while pregnant! Your skin may be a bit more sensitive due to hormonal changes, but I’ll take extra care to make the process as comfortable as possible—many moms-to-be love waxing to stay smooth during pregnancy.

Cancellations

You must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid losing your deposit.

  1. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will result in the forfeiture of your deposit.

  2. Reschedules within 24 hours may require a new deposit.

  3. If you need to reschedule, don't hesitate to contact us directly through the booking site or by phone at (240) 547 1042.

Service

Please arrive at your appointment with clean skin (no lotions, oils, or makeup on the treatment area).

  1. Clients under 18 years old must have a parent or guardian present for consent.

  2. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone exhibiting inappropriate behavior or violating these policies.

Payments

A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This amount will be applied toward your total service cost.

  1. The remaining balance is due at the time of service. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments (e.g., Apple Pay, Zelle, etc.).

  2. Prices are subject to change without notice. However, confirmed appointments will honor the price at the time of booking.

No Shows

A no-show occurs when a client fails to attend their appointment without prior notice.

  1. No-shows will result in the forfeiture of the deposit and may require full payment before booking future appointments.

  2. After two no-shows, you may be restricted from booking with us.

Late Arrivals

A 10-minute grace period is allowed for late arrivals.

  1. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may be canceled or shortened, depending on availability.

  2. If you cancel your appointment due to being late, you will be considered a no-show, and your deposit will not be refunded.

Refund

All deposits and payments are non-refundable.

  1. If SKXN Aesthetics by Ny needs to cancel your appointment for any reason, you can reschedule or receive a credit for future services.

  2. After 3 days, refunds are not issued for service dissatisfaction. If you have any concerns, please notify us immediately so we can address them.
